Whale Shark Snorkelling

The main attraction for many visitors to Mafia is the opportunity to see and snorkel with Whale sharks - the world's largest fish, measuring up to 20m in length.

During the summer season, Whale sharks can be seen swimming slowly near the surface. Once spotted, you can enter the water calmly to snorkel alongside them. Guests are advised not to touch them as they can be shy. Mafia Island adheres to a "Code of Conduct" used worldwide, which your guide will explain to ensure safe interactions with these incredible creatures.

We depart early to the west side of the island, where you will embark on a Chachungi speedboat to navigate the channel between Mafia and the mainland.
